Installing and Setting up the latest Windows Mobile 5 and 6 version of TurboDoc. You need to Unzip the files in the TurboDoc PPC.zip file then and copy the files in this Zip file to the Storage card on your pocket pc. (You many need to rename the TurboDoc PPC.zip.bak to TurboDoc PPC.zip) Important Installation NOTE: All the files should be installed on the Device, not the Storage card. (The programs has to run on the Device but the DATA may be set to be located on the Storage Card, important as the SQL version with 2000 patients is 41 megs. See description of how to do this below) Once these files are installed on the PDA Device, Click on the #1. NetCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab file first. This will install the Compact Framework. Then you need to click on the #2. sqlce.ppc.wce5.armv4i.cab Then this will install the Compact Sequel server module on the Pocket PC. Lastly, click on the #3. TDocMobileSQL.CAB file. TurboDoc will show up in the Programs folder of the Pocket PC. If you would like the data to reside on the Storage card, you may copy the two files qdl32sql.sdf and td_pdaSql.sdf file from the Program Files\TurboDoc Pocket PC folder on the DEVICE to the Storage Card\Program Files\TurboDoc folder You then have to remove these two files from the Program Files\TurboDoc Pocket PC folder of the DEVICE. If the program cannot find these files in Program Files\TurboDoc Pocket PC folder of the Device then the program looks on the storage card in the folder (Storage Card\Program Files\TurboDoc). If you already have the TurboDoc PPC.exe program running on your DEVICE you must STOP the TurboDoc PPC.exe file from running in order to copy and delete any of these files. The SYNC works between the Full TurboDoc program (version 11 and higher). The Windows Mobile 5 & 6 currently only accepts data from the Desktop/Laptop version of TurboDoc to the Pocket PC version of TurboDoc, but may move 2000 plus patients, phone list and the schedule. Be aware that 2000 patients will take up 41 megs on your PDA. TO SYNC DATA from the Desktop/Laptop computer to the Device, you have to 1. Define where the Desktop/Laptop will create the file for the PDA to SYNChronize. This is determined using the Desktop/Laptop Windows Mobile Device Center. You MUST have a SYNC connection setup and activated before you begin. ![]() Click on Change Content Sync Setting.
![]() Then Click the Files Sync Settings.
![]() Notice the phrase: On this computer, synchronize the files in this Folder:
(C:\Users\lhunt\Documents\Documents on huntlb's Smartphone )
The TD2PDA.xml file has not been created yet. You need to set the location on the Desktop where you wish this file to be created.
· The location of data is determined by you and your Windows Mobile Dev ice File Transfer Setting, so you will have to set this location in the TurboDoc.ini file manually. Under the selected doctors name [Lyle B. Hunt, M.D.] as the following
· TD_XMLOutFile=C:\Users\lhunt\Documents\Documents on huntlb's Smartphone 2. Run the Export TurboDoc => PDA option from the Utilities Menu on the Desktop/Laptop version of TurboDoc. Make sure you have set up what you want transferred in the Default Section => Operation Mode. · When the Export TurboDoc => PDA option is run, the data will be moved into the TD2PDA.XML file. It will be placed in the folder defined in the TurboDoc.INI file as determined by the Windows Mobile Device Center. 3. Then using Windows Mobile Device Center set up a File Share with the TD2PDA.xml as in the image below. ![]() 4. After the SYNC has occurred with the above settings, the TD2PDA.xml file will be moved to the Pocket PC. 5. While running the TurboDoc Pocket PC version, in the Utilities section, you may select SYNC DATA and the data will be moved from the TD2PDA.xml into the Pocket PC database. (Patient, Doctors and Schedule data can be moved from the Desktop to the PDA). Anytime you make changes to the Desktop database, you can move those changes to the Pocket PC by running the Export TurboDoc => PDA routine in the Utilities of the Desktop TurboDoc, then performing a SYNC operation with the Pocket PC and then running the SYNC data from the utilities Sync Data on the pocket PC. 6. The SYNC will take a fair amount of time when moving the first time, but subsequent transfers will contain less data and will occur much faster as only recent data changes will be transferred. |
